We are looking for talented and motivated individuals to join our development team. Day-to-day responsibilities of our development team include converting UI specifications into live pages using the full power of modern object-oriented JavaScript, forward-thinking and clean CSS, standards-compliant HTML, and a scalable ASP.NET/C#/SQL backend.

Responsibilities

  • Estimate, code, unit test, and debug new features being added to Zenfolio.com
  • Work on individual and collaborative, team-based engineering projects
  • Assist in identifying technical requirements and project plan details
  • Implement dynamic, data-driven web pages from user interface specifications
  • Create new SQL queries and expand upon existing database schema
  • Debug and optimize the performance of a high traffic, multi-tier web application

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of professional web application development experience
  • At least 2 years of experience in object-oriented programming
  • At least 1 year of experience relational database development experience
  • Experience working with Microsoft technologies, including ASP.NET, C#, Microsoft IIS, and SQL Server
  • Understanding of JavaScript development for web applications
  • Good knowledge of JQuery, HTML5, CSS3, and XML
  • Ability to work within a small collaborative team of developers
  • Ability to learn new concepts quickly and apply acquired knowledge in practice
  • Ecommerce experience and photography background a plus
  • BS degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, other related technical field, or equivalent experience

  • Become the first level of interaction for user e-mail inquiries and live chat. Inquiries include requests for technical assistance as well as general pre-sales and how-to questions.
  • Ensure timely responses to all inquiries (we try to respond to all e-mails within 10-60 minutes)
  • Effectively articulate complex information to a variety of technical and non-technical users, i.e., helping people who have basic computer skills and need a lot of hand-holding
  • Provide daily interaction with the photography community on user forums and social-networking sites
  • Identify areas of usability concerns and escalate them for technical resolution
  • Provide assistance with testing and Q/A
  • Covering support during weekend and evening hours is highly likely

Product Manager/UX Designer (Menlo Park, CA)

We are looking for a talented Product Manager/UX Designer to join our growing team. In our fast-paced environment you will enjoy designing tangible features, be in close contact with the development team, solve interesting challenges, provide input to our long-term strategy, learn new concepts, and become part of our fun and creative team.

This is a 6-month contract position.

Responsibilities

  • Conceptualize ideas into innovative, compelling, and efficient designs. Own your features from design to completion.
  • Apply user experience and design principles and deliver high-fidelity mockups and interaction flows. Create wireframes, storyboards, and final feature designs through collaborative iterations with the team.
  • Work with engineering to understand architecture and development issues and make appropriate design tradeoffs
  • Create clear and attractive messaging, buttons, icons, and other UI elements.
  • Deliver complete functional specifications, when needed, describing feature design, flows, scenarios, error conditions, etc.
  • Proactively seek customer feedback and incorporate it into feature design and enhancements.

Requirements

  • Online portfolio including examples of solving UI challenges
  • Knowledge of user experience principles, graphic design, and web standards
  • Ability to deliver complete functional specifications, flows, diagrams, mock-ups, and rapidly execute hi-fidelity designs with strong attention to detail
  • Develop knowledge of Zenfolio customer base

Though our team at Zenfolio has many years of experience developing web and desktop software, it's our shared commitment to photography and delivering the premier photo website service that binds us together. Day-to-day responsibilities of our creative team include translating ideas into beautiful solutions. Projects include: email campaigns, advertisements (print, web, social), landing pages, marketing collateral, event graphics, web designs, photo books, greeting cards, UI elements, and much more.

You will work side-by-side experienced designers, supporting them in various tasks. At the same time, you'll be immersed into a successful marketing team who delivers dynamic content for consumers every day. This will be a great learning experience for anyone interested in a career in graphic design, or a related field.

Requirements

  • You must be a Junior or Senior working towards a Graphic/Web design degree, or have at least 2 years of design studies under your belt
