VP of Engineering (Menlo Park, CA)

We are looking for a great technical leader to shape the future of Zenfolio's platform and manage and mentor the engineering team. The position is based in Menlo Park, CA and reports to the General Manager of Zenfolio and is a key member of Zenfolio's executive team.

The Vice President of Engineering will provide technical, strategic and operational leadership to the organization. He/she will be a hands-on leader with a passion for building compelling customer experiences and a proven ability to grow and lead a team of talented engineers through design, development, testing and launch of web-based and back office applications.

Responsibilities

The VP of Engineering is responsible for all aspects of systems development and engineering for Zenfolio from setting strategy and roadmaps, to driving the processes, design, implementation and production support for all Zenfolio application platforms (internal and customer facing), databases and the data warehouse. He/she will create the strategy to evolve the technology of our platform. He/she will also ensure that the product vision is realized through excellence in execution.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Technical leadership – the VP Engineering is responsible for developing the technical strategy and the platform architecture and for developing and maintaining a technical roadmap that will continue to innovate from a technical standpoint
  • Personnel management - Lead and mentor the engineering team, including multiple levels of Engineering Managers, and the QA team. Manages and supports career growth and succession planning for the team
  • Strategy development – the VP Engineering is part of the executive team, working in an interdisciplinary manner with peers in other departments as well as the GM to develop company strategy and product strategy.
  • Works with other teams to understand business drivers, customer insights, marketing requirements and competitive issues that may impact development strategies.

Professional Qualifications

  • A BS or advanced degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or EE and 10+ years of experience in software development, design and architecture
  • Experienced engineering executive who has run a large engineering team
  • Demonstrated ability to attract/recruit/retain external talent and be a "spiritual leader" of the Engineering organization
  • Experienced with Agile development and Scrum methodology, has a history of building teams that are continuously shipping product
  • Specific experience in designing, developing, and maintaining real-life medium-tolarge Internet/eCommerce systems that have actually been deployed and heavily used.
  • Strong understanding of architectural requirements and development processes involved in building reliable, robust, scalable, and highly-available modern Internet applications.
  • Strong understanding of technical foundation of large multi-tier Web applications and their challenges, such as specifics of operating on top of large OLTP databases, software infrastructure requirements for large deployments, tools and solutions for preventing and dealing with online security threats, preventing and troubleshooting performance and scalability issues on a heavily loaded 24/7 web application running on a hundred of servers, etc.
  • Strong background in open source and Microsoft development stacks. Experience and knowledge on MS SQL Server, ASP.NET (WebForms and MVC), MS Visual Studio, and in Web technologies and libraries - CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, etc. - is a big plus.

VP of Growth (Menlo Park, CA)

We are looking for a great marketing leader to drive Zenfolio's growth, develop International markets and mentor the Marketing and Customer Support teams. The position, based in Menlo Park, CA, reports to Zenfolio General Manager and is a key member of Zenfolio's executive team.

The Vice President of Growth will provide strategic leadership to the Marketing organization and the Customer Support team to grow Zenfolio's business. He/she will be a hands-on, passionate leader with experience in driving customer success and successful experience in customer acquisition and online marketing.

Responsibilities

The VP of Growth is leading the Marketing, Business Development and Customer Support efforts at Zenfolio. He/she heads a 30-person team and has 4 direct reports: Marketing, Creative, CS and International.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Strategy – together with the marketing Director, create the marketing strategy to grow Zenfolio's business, drive brand and positioning strategy and expand brand awareness.
  • Customer acquisition and retention – recruit new customers via online and offline marketing channels, strategic partnerships and PR.
  • International – aggressively develop Zenfolio outside of the US market; provide vision, strategy and leadership; prioritize geographic footprint, marketing channels, and partnership opportunities.
  • Customer Support – optimize operations and enhance user engagement, retention and conversion via stellar support for our customers.
  • Business Development – Identify, establish and grow key industry partnerships to help grow Zenfolio's brand presence and revenue.
  • Personnel management – Lead and mentor the Marketing and Customer Support teams, manage and support career growth and succession planning

Professional Qualifications

  • Marketing executive, with 10+ years of experience in roles of increasing responsibility in direct and online marketing, with management experience and proven knowledge of all marketing levers.
  • A track record of profitably growing online revenue through creative marketing campaigns, while increasing site conversion, LTV, customer retention and loyalty.
  • Superior market analysis skills with a solid understanding of consumer trends, online analytics, customer segmentation, competitor and market trend analysis.
  • In depth understanding of marketing forecasting, planning, implementation and performance analysis.
  • Experience driving international marketing programs, ensuring consistency across multiple sales channels.
  • Previous experience incorporating customer support resources in retention and conversion initiatives.
  • Passion for understanding the customer and driving customer success.
  • Deep understanding of technology systems and processes.

Sr Manager of International Marketing (Multiple Locations)

We are looking for a talented, experienced and motivated marketing manager to help drive our international market development. Reporting to the Marketing Director, this role will be critical to expanding our market position outside of the US, especially in Canada, France, Germany, Spain and Australia. The position can be based in Menlo Park, CA or in Europe (France, Germany, Netherlands).

Responsibilities

  • Identifying and evaluating the market, audience, and needs of the customer
  • Initiating, developing and personally executing marketing strategies to grow Zenfolio's non-USD revenue
  • Identifying and closing new business partnerships focused on profitable revenue generation and new customer acquisition
  • Managing the end-to-end processes including identifying strategic priorities for each region, implementing agreed-upon initiatives, evaluating and validating projections, and managing budgets, spend and ROI
