Who knows how to capture emotional images of couples in love better than a couple in love? Allison and her husband Rich work as a team, shooting unique and stunning wedding photography. As artists, they bring a dramatic yet discerning eye to the trade.
Allison and her partner tried a few online fulfillment services before finding a
home with Zenfolio. Unlike the workflow offered by other services, she and Rich
love that they can showcase client proofs on Zenfolio and then process orders using
the online shopping cart with their own lab.
The easy to use ordering system is
loved by her clients and evident in repeat orders. She also loves the intuitive
management tools that save time and help to reduce her workload.
Allison and Rich use Zenfolio to complement her main web site with intuitive client proofing and ordering system.
I was born in the northwest suburbs of Chicago, Rich in Santa Domingo, Dominican Republic. We definitely took different paths in life to get where we are, but we found each other in Savannah, GA. Savannah is a city which we both grew to love and where we now call home.
We specialize in weddings and portraits. We love connecting with and capturing the beauty in others. Wedding and Portrait photography is our outlet to capture and create images others might not even see or imagine. We love what we do and are so blessed to be able to share it together.
I have had a camera in my hands from a very young age, as my father was also a professional photographer. I can remember even from an early age, going on photo walks and excursions with my dad.
Rich has the love since his first B&W photography class in high school. Though his love of technology swayed him to film and video, he soon found that his true love was taking stills.
When we started our initial search for an online proofing system, we knew that we had to have a couple things… First being ease of use (for both the client and us). And second, we really wanted the system to integrate with our lab and workflow. Zenfolio's solution did it all! With a straight export from Lightroom, a highly customizable site, and integration with our lab, we couldn't be more happy with Zenfolio!
We are digital shooters and shoot 100% RAW. Since the release of Adobe Lightroom, we have fully converted to using it for our image processing… We use Lightroom for pretty much everything these days. So much in fact, we hardly touch Photoshop anymore these days. :)
We are definitely Nikon people, we have shot with Nikon since their early film cameras!
I am going to answer this, and Rich is not much of a reader (unless it is a manual or PDF hehehe). Though I can't really decide what my favorite book is, I can say my favorite author is Chuck Palahniuk. I love the way he writes and the twists he adds to his novels.
I am classically trained, though many skills have been handed down to me by my father. Rich is entirely self-taught. It is so great to able to offer both of our unique styles to our clients.
Practice. Choose your mentors wisely. And most importantly, read your manuals and know your gear.
During high school, I worked for Chicago Daily Herald. I was so honored to have my first work published there! Rich had his first work published more recently, when one of his images was published in Professional Photographer Magazine.
I am inspired by my clients… I love to make them happy, and feed off of them. Rich is inspired by creative light, mood, and pretty much anything dramatic.
Hmmm. Tough one! I think it would be Angelia Jolie. In my opinion, she is one of the most striking and beautiful women of today. For Rich, it would probably be Kurt Cobain. Kurt and Nirvana's music have always been special to Rich.
My first camera was a Nikon FE-2. Rich's first camera was a Kodak 110 camera by Fisher-Price.
I am a sci-fi junkie, I love astronomy, and read Discover magazine religiously. Rich is a trash TV junkie… Seriously, he will watch about any reality TV show out there.
We always carry multiple speed lights with us at all times. Depending on the lighting situation or mood we want to create, lighting is key.
Well, I hope one day we'll be classified as first class shooters… But, if there was anything we could share it would be: Be patient, good things come to those who wait!
