As a sports photographer for close to 2 decades, Terrell Lloyd is never too far from the action. Between being a team shooter for the San Francisco 49ers, as well as San Jose State to being a member of the SanDisk Extreme Team, he is always on the move. Although he loves many areas of photography, his true passion lies in shooting from the sidelines. His blend of cutting edge technology with classic composition, make him a dynamic and exciting photographer to watch.
Terrell uses Zenfolio to deliver files to his clients in style. They love how easy it is to access proofs and order prints. Integrating Zenfolio has helped Terrell to create a seamless workflow, allowing him to spend more time doing what he loves: shooting.
I was born in Houston TX, but raised in San Francisco, CA, and now live in Foster City.
I photograph all types of things within my business, from portraits, weddings, Corporate, Commercial, but I am passionate about Sports. I always love the game and now I have the chance to follow that dream with the San Francisco 49ers.
I took photography in school and fell in love with it since. I have been shooting photography for over 18 years now as a professional.
I think Zenfolio has helped my business ten fold. It has increased my visibility with my client base and has made it easy to share and distribute images to all of my clients.
I use them all from Lightroom, Photoshop, Photo Mechanic for sports.
I am a big time Canon photographer. I have been shooting Canon since 1994.
Doing something you love to do. It’s does not seem like a job. You set your own work schedule and when you do an assignment you love it and happen to get paid for it. It’s the love of the craft.
Both, I was self-taught and then starting more formal training. Training is a must in the profession. You have to understand some of the technical aspects.
Learn as much as you can, go out and photograph many different things, and figure out what you really want to shoot for a living. Get a mentor to help you along the way.
My work was first published in a magazine called “CityFlight News Magazine”, this was the first time I had any of my work published which enabled me to get access on the field at 49ers games to where I was able to get my start in my sports photography.
Other fellow photographers, looking at their work, seeing what is new in the industry that they are doing.
My first camera was a Minolta film camera that I purchased in High School. That is when I fell in love the photography.
My first career was that I was a one time Professional Bowler. I joined the PBA tour at 21 years old, and bowled professionally for over 13 years.
My fisheye lens. I love using it.
I would say be nice, dress nice, and always, come with a SMILE….. It will that you a long way with people and your clients.
