Customizing the appearance of your first gallery

Now that you have created a gallery with photos you can begin customizing the appearance of the gallery.

The Theme of your Gallery will define the visual appearance including colors, background image, and fonts. You can customize the theme at any time to your liking. A number of themes are provided to choose from and Zenfolio is continually adding new themes.

Layouts define the elements and their placement on your Gallery and Photo pages. You can customize each type of page separately by changing the individual layout. A selection of layouts is provided.

Selecting a Theme

To select and apply a new Theme for your Gallery:

1. In Edit View, select the Gallery you would like to customize in the Organizer
2. Locate the Show Visitor View » Customize link on the right side of the Top Menu in the Main Area. If you are already in the Visitor View, move your mouse over the My Zenfolio View Switcher at the top of the visitor page. A menu will open with a list of items. Click to select Customize Visitor View.
3. The page will refresh with a new customization menu at the top and a yellow outline around the page, confirming that you are in the customization mode.
4. Click to select Theme from the Main Menu. A popup window will open.
5. If Use Default Settings option is checked, click to uncheck it to access custom settings. Click to select the theme you would like to use for the page. Click Apply to confirm and apply the selection. The page will refresh with the new theme applied.
6. Repeat steps 3 and 4 until you are happy with the selection. If you would like to customize other visitor pages, follow standard page navigation until you have the desired page displayed, and continue with applying customizations. You do not need to exit Customize Visitor View mode in order to navigate to other pages. The same theme is automatically applied to photo pages within each gallery and collection in order to ensure consistent presentation.
7. Click Done to save your changes and exit this mode.

Selecting a Layout

To select and apply a new Layout for your Gallery/Collection pages:

1. In Edit View, select the Gallery you would like to customize in the Organizer
2. Locate the Show Visitor View » Customize link on the right side of the Top Menu in the Main Area. If you are already in the Visitor View, move your mouse over the My Zenfolio View Switcher at the top of the visitor page. A menu will open with a list of items. Click to select Customize Visitor View.
3. The page will refresh with a new customization menu at the top and a yellow outline around the page, confirming that you are in the customization mode.
4. Click to select Layout from the top menu. A popup window will open.
5. If Use Default Settings option is checked, uncheck it to access custom settings.
6. Click to select the layout you would like to use for the Home Page. Click Apply to confirm and apply the selection. The page will refresh with the new layout applied.
7. Repeat steps 3 and 4 until you are happy with the selection.
8. Click Done to save your changes and exit this mode.
